Roman Daily Life Research Paper:
Rome; Part of the biggest empire in the world at ancient times. If you look at the relics and buildings in Rome today, you’ll think, “Rome wasn't built in a day!” Well it’s true! You can’t build a massive empire like Ancient Rome in less than 24 hours! To understand how and what the Romans daily life was, we have to journey back and see what their life was like. lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll The Romans back then loved entertainment. They had theaters where they enjoyed comedies and satires, and the Coliseum to watch fierce gladiators fight to the death with other gladiators or deadly animals for far away places. After the match, the spectators and the judges decide if the battle was too exciting or too boring. If the match was boring to everyone, then the judges would stop the battle immediately and kill the victor. (Talk about unfair! ) People in Ancient Rome had a fun time viewing the entertainment. lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll They also sought to bring harmony to their lares. Lares back then, was another word for your ancestor’s spirit. They worshiped their lares in a building Romans know as a Pantheon. In a Pantheon, Ancient Romans used to bring harmony to their lares. lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll The Roman Army was the best of the best. They had more than 10,000 soldiers from the ages, 16-20 years. However, today the United State’s army is more powerful and is the 2nd largest army in the modern world, with China being
1st. Even though Rome’s army was the best of the best in Ancient times, the U.S.A and China out-rule Rome in a flash! lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll The best army of the ancient times was Rome. Houses in Ancient Rome were called a Villa. A villa back then was a big, rich mansion with a bathhouse that only upper-class people, workers, and farmers could live in there. Today’s mansions however, have TVs, hot tubs, and fancy dining rooms. lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll “Rome wasn't built in a day!” Now that you know about the Romans, once you see some of their ancient relics and buildings, you can finally admit that the quote is true.
